Destination Weddings – Mumbai
The most populous city in the country, Mumbai is home to many unique venues that are suitable for hosting the wedding.Recently We have seen many of our clients asking for wedding venues that gives a feel of destination weddings but at same time is close to the city, So Today i decided to share with you some of my preferred wedding venue locations. The weddings venues are located around Mumbai and are discussed below.
1. Lonavla
Lonavla is a hill station that is located at a distance of 96 km away from Mumbai and 64 km away from Pune. Popular for the candy sweet, Chikki, the hill station is well connected with Mumbai and Pune through roads and rail as the expressway connecting Mumbai-Pune and Mumbai-Chennai pass through this town. The hill station becomes busier in the monsoon season because of the lush green fields and waterfalls here and there. The hill station is also a place to get-together on the weekends as it offers a serene atmosphere to the visitors. Of late, the hill station has also been a wedding venue. There are a couple of resorts in that are offering venues exclusively for weddings and the most prominent of them is the Aamby valley where most of the weddings take place. Fariyas Resorts, Treasure Island Resorts and Banquet Halls are the other wedding destinations in Lonavla. Once the wedding is over, the couples along with their guests can visit the various places of interest in and around the city. Some of them are Rajmachi point, 6.5km from the town, Ryewood Park and Shivaji Udya, Valvan Dam, 2 km from the town, Lonavla Lake, 1.6 km from the town etc.

2. Amby Valley City:
The Amby Valley City is the country’s first planned operational city and was developed by the Sahara India Pariwar group.
It is located about 23 km from Lonavla and 87 km from Pune. The city is connected through road from Lonavla and through air from Mumbai as it has its own airstrip.The ten thousand acres of lush green city along with natural and artificial lakes everywhere makes the place one of the dream destinations for the wedding. You will be amazed seeing the beauty of nature blended well with artificial extravaganza. There are many places of interest in the city itself such as Triumph Arch, which is the entrance to the city, Sail bridge, 16 ft giant bridge, Chiank Tok that gives a great dining experience with a tribal ambience, Campfire point that is suitable for family gatherings and a Ghat that resembles an amphitheatre. The best time to visit the city is during monsoons when the Mother Nature showers the place with cool rain and mist.
4. Fort JadhavGadh and Corinthians Resort and Club – Pune:
Fort JadhavGadh was built in the year 1710 and is the first Heritage fort that was scheduled in the country. Located 22 km away from Pune, the fort is the perfect example of the Maratha craftsmanship. The fort was renovated some years earlier and now includes all modern amenities such as rooms, restaurants, banqueting, swimming pool, and spa. If you dream to wed in a fort and do not want to go as far as Rajasthan, which is famous for forts, then the best place is Fort JadhavGadh. The organizers will make sure that the wedding is a perfect blend of tradition and modern style. Guests are treated well along with the wedding couples. Ever desired of a royal wedding in a historical place, Fort JadhavGadh is the best place.
The Corinthians is a 5 star hotel that is located on the outskirts of the South Pune Hills and is popular for the royal hospitality that it provides to the customers. Housing a total of 116 rooms, the hotel is the perfect destination for those couples who want their wedding to take place in a luxurious resort. The resort contains state of the art facilities such as spa, swimming pool, waterfall etc. that would delight your guests.

4. Sula Vineyards – Nasik:
Nasik holds a prominent position in the country for the production of Grapes, thanks to the climate of the city which is suitable for large scale cultivation of the fruit which is the source of Wine. The Sula vineyards are the country’s popular wineries, which are spread across 1500 acres of land. If you want your wedding to take place at a unique place, then go to this location. The tasting room in the vineyard is decorated using wine bottles and gives a panoramic view of the entire area, when watched from the balcony. There are tour guides who will take you through the vineyard and describe the process of wine making. Little Italy and Soma are the restaurants that are present in the vineyard. The amphitheatre is the place where the weddings take place. The theatre is suitable for any event and the lush green landscape gives a picturesque wedding for you. The amphitheatre is located well near to the restaurants, and hence dining is also made easier. The other places of interest in Nasik are the Gargoti Rock Museum, Trimbakeshwar and Bandardhara, Shirdi. Plan your wedding in the vineyard and visit the places of interest with your family for an ever cherishing experience. The vineyard is about 180 km from Mumbai and 210 km from Pune and there are buses and trains running from both the cities.
5. Lavasa:
Lavasa, similar to the Amby Valley City is a private township near Pune located in the Mose valley, Western Ghats. This private city is developed by Hindustan Construction Company and there are all amenities in the city that will usually be present in the metros. Your wedding in this extravagant city will be a dream come true as the city boasts a perfect blend of natural beauty along with man-made sceneries. There are many hotels and resorts providing accommodation to the guests. The Lavasa information center will provide a complete guidance over touring the city. There are luxury buses and miniature trains that run on the road, which will take you to all the places of interest in the city. Your guests will have an awe-inspiring experience inside the city with nature trails, adventure sports, water sport activities, parks and gardens, game centers and many more recreational spots lining their way. You will have the time of your life in this wonderfully planned and constructed hill city.
6. Alibaug:
Alibaug is a serene coastal town located in the Konkan region, 78 km away from Mumbai. Tourism is the major source of economy in this small town. Nature has gifted this place with some lovely beaches that attracts tourists from all around the world. Beach weddings in this place are getting popular in recent times, thanks to the resorts that have been developed along the coasts, where people stay and plan the wedding with the organizers. The nearest railway station and Bus stand is Pen which is 30 km away from the town. Catamaran or ferry services are also available from Mandwa. Hence make sure that you and your partner enjoy the beauty of the sea by travelling in the catamarans. The Alibaug beach is the place where most of the weddings take place and apart from this beach, there are Varsoli beach, Akshi beach, Nagaon beach and a couple more. Some of the other tourist attractions places in and around the town are Kolaba fort, 1-2 km from Alibaug shores, a Kanakeshwar temple about 12 km from the town, Chaul, about 15 km away, Birla temple, and the historic Hingulja temple. With so many attractions, this place is one of the best to visit with your family and enjoy the wedding.
All the venues discussed above are located less than 100 km from Mumbai and are connected by rail and road. Hence transportation is not a problem.
